Landscape photos of Gaspesie, Jacques Cartier National Park, and Charlevoix.
In Quiet Embrace
As the light faded at the end of the day, the forest began to settle into stillness.
Two white birch trees lean into one another, standing apart from the surrounding stand of aspens. Their pale bark holds the last traces of light, drawing the eye inward and creating a quiet focal point within the forest.
The image is less about a single subject and more about rhythm and texture. Repeating vertical lines recede into shadow, while green foliage and small white bunchberry flowers soften the forest floor below.
The birch trees caught my attention, inviting me to slow down, observe, and an invitation to slow down and inhabit the moment.

Jacques-Cartier at Dusk
As the sun set, warm light spread across the river valley. The water was completely still, and a long exposure reflected the rich peach and orange hues filling the sky.
Mist and low cloud gathered in the distance, adding depth and atmosphere to the scene. As the sunset progressed, the light continued to intensify, becoming more layered and engaging with each passing moment.
It was one of the most striking sunsets I have experienced, leaving me with a deep sense of warmth and awe at the quiet beauty of the natural world.

Birchbark Canoes
Two birchbark canoes rest quietly at the river’s edge.
The water is perfectly still, reflecting the dense green forest that rises along the opposite shore. Deciduous and coniferous trees form a continuous wall of layered texture, softened by low clouds and mist drifting down from the hillside above.
The canoes sit deliberately, partially in the frame, adding a gentle contrast. Their warm, natural tones stand softly against the cool greens of the forest and the dark, mirror-like water below.
The river becomes a reflective surface not just visually, but emotionally. It holds the entire scene in a moment of calm suspension.

Late October, Saint-Anne River
Taken during a late October evening in Gaspésie National Park, this image captures a brief moment as the setting sun lit the distant mountain ridge with warm, golden tones.
The Saint-Anne River curves gently through the valley, reflecting the soft colour of the sky as the light fades.
This photograph speaks to the beauty of passing moments in nature. It invites a slower pace and offers a sense of calm and reflection, making it well suited for a space where you want to pause, breathe, and reconnect with the landscape.

Jacques-Cartier River Reflection
In the stillness of the early morning, the Jacques-Cartier looks more like a lake than a river. This is one of the most picturesque, glacial valleys in Québec.
